The origin story:

"With a Vespa It all started in 1986 with a 50-inch round-handlebar scooter… Somehow, I'd known for a while that I wanted a scooter parked in front of my house by the time I was 16 at the latest. A Vespa It had to be one of those, and please, none of those newfangled PK models. Luckily, I found one in no time. The 400 DM strained my Prima checking account to the limit. But no matter, I had to have it. Hard to believe, but the 50N I bought was only 4 1/2 years old, but already old enough for a rusted-through running board.
How I managed to transform that humble shopping cart into a mod scooter packed with lights and mirrors in just a few months, with no money and my limited knowledge of scooter mechanics, remains a mystery to me. However, the many hours of work and sacrifices were forgotten after the first ride around town.

After school, cruising across the town square on my scooter, the Proma racing exhaust rattling, "The Chords live" blasting from the speakers in the glove compartment, the Union Jack fluttering on the two-meter radio antenna – wow – and everyone turning to look. When some friends started riding scooters too, and we went to our first rallies together, I was completely hooked.
To afford all of this, I started buying scooters, fixing them up, and selling them for a profit. I also carried out my first custom jobs around that time.
On weekends I'd ride my scooter to parties and scooter rallies, and during the week I'd work on my own projects or tinker with other people's scooters. That's how I gradually became more and more involved in the Bavarian and Austrian scooter scene.

When I then failed to complete my mechanical engineering studies after three semesters, I knew I wanted to turn my hobby into my profession. Then a local VespaWhen a Suzuki authorized repair shop was looking for an apprentice, I finally had the opportunity to implement my ideas in a professional workshop. All my lunch breaks were spent modifying various scooter parts.
During this time, I created, among other things, the Lambretta racer "Kevin Schwanz" and the Lambretta cutdown "jelly vodka." I won trophies with the latter at several custom shows, which further increased my profile. After just under two years, I completed my apprenticeship early and continued working for another two years as a journeyman at the company where I trained. In the spring of 1996, I became self-employed, and "Jockey's Boxenstop" was born. Since completing my master craftsman's certification as a motorcycle mechanic, for which I received the highest distinction of the Bavarian Master Craftsman Award, I have run my shop full-time.

Until the beginning of 2004, my shop was located in a small garage on the idyllic Gartlberg hill in Pfarrkirchen, and due to lack of space, various storage areas and parking spaces were added over the years. Since this could not be a permanent situation, I started looking for a larger workshop as early as 2000, but after the two-year search was not really successful, I decided to build a workspace tailored to my business.

When I'm not at work, I love to tour Italy on one of my Lambrettas, or if necessary, just Bavaria.
